Preludes and Openers

This is not the beginning of my journey. It's not the end, either. It is, in a way, a means to an end. As many things are. I find myself needing to leave proof. Proof that I am, and proof that I can.

This blog will mostly be an exercise in writing. I want to improve my writing as much as I want to share it. So that's what I'll do here. I hope, as my readers, that you will share your observations and critiques honestly. Fairly, too, if you don't mind.

I am a graduate student, studying forensic linguistics. My final semester starts in a few days. I'll spend most of it writing my thesis. Still, I will try to write about my process, and anything else in my life I might want to share.

The Nursery Note One of the most famous kidnapping cases in American history is that of Charles Lindbergh, Jr. The child’s father and namesake was Charles Lindbergh, the famous aviator. News media seems to have made it a standard to identify someone according to profession, or some other social label, even when irrelevant to the respective story.
